Repeat after me: The cruelty is the point

    1. Couldn’t the republicans have accepted this to reopen the government and then block it somewhere else if they wanted to?

    2. Humble-Plankton2217 on

The GOP does NOT WANT to reopen the government. They *love* that it’s closed and services are denied. All their dreams are coming true. Reduce the government to a small enough size it can be drowned in a bathtub is an old GOP mantra, but of course they still want to keep their cushy jobs and insider stock trading setups to enrich themselves. (Not saying Dems don’t do insider trading, lots of them do it too and it’s WRONG!)

The GOP will not budge until polls start reporting decisively that voters are blaming Republicans for the shutdown. Even then, I think they’ll dig in for a while. They know that bootlicking MAGA voters will *never* vote against them, no matter what they do to their constituents. (Dem voters fall in love, Republicans *fall in line*.)

5 days ago a poll had it at 52% of responders blaming the GOP, 42% blame Dems and the rest undecided. It’s not enough to move the needle inside those empty, heartless GOP chest cavities.

I’m sticking with my original projection of 65-70 days total shutdown time. Government re-opening on or around December 9th and Dems, for the most part, caving to the GOP.

Lazy fucks don’t want to work. Welfare queens living off the government and not contributing to society. And they get to make the rules.

Even if they did pass the bill to reopen the government how would the Congress return to DC with the airlines being shut down?

Oh wait, they really don’t want to have the Congress back in session, something about the Epstein files?

    5. They “can’t” reopen the government until Mike Johnson has an extra GOP vote to continue blocking the Epstein file release. Everything comes back to the Epstein files, all the obstruction, all the distraction …

hell yeah, shut down continues, let’s go. Let’s all mutually destroy each other. Hey, it’s all good. There will be a lot of skinny kids running around this Thanksgiving and Christmas. We don’t need ozempic or zepbound no more. We’ll just starve the fat people.

Wait until the airplanes stop flying – l can’t fucking wait.

Although there is a good chance there is a couple of major accidents before air traffic controllers put aside their fear and refuse to go to work.

Its a game of chicken where whatever party concedes first looks bad. All the while nearly every single person in the US is being hurt a little worse each day. I hate the term, but this is literally an unprecedented shutdown.

    9. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

      This is about:

creating food riots so that they can invoke the Insurrection Act,

      declare a State of Emergency,

      declare Military Law,

send the military into our own cities,

continue tearing down all semblance of a democratic republic.

      WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE!!

WAKE THE FUCK UP, MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

This has all been laid out in Project 2025!!

If you haven’t already, ask Chat GPT for a two page overview of Project 2025

There’s a theory that mankind/society is maybe 3 to 9 missed meals away from anarchy.

Maybe Trump and his team are hoping to cause these missed meals and the following “anarchy.” Gives them the reason to declare martial law? 🤔

      Goodbye midterms. Goodbye democracy.

      Welcome to Trump’s fascist America.

I would have thought the bottom would have been repealing Trump’s medicare and medicaid cuts and dropping the more minor ACA demands. Then point out Republicans won’t compromise even on cutting your medicare and medicaid by itself. But the request is much lower and Republicans still refused.

It works perfect right now because many people are going through open enrollment and seeing their premiums jump even if they’re not on medicare/medicaid, as hospitals and therefore insurance pass on their added costs from having some locations close down and so on.

    12. Too bad the USA isn’t part of the Commonwealth. A Governer General would be great to have right now.

    13. Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

The price for Democratic votes to end the shutdown should go up. 1 year ACA extension, full funding for remaining IRA programs, release the Epstein files.

    14. Shelly Moore Capito can suck it! Her whole family is scourge on WV, going all the way back to her Dad, a criminally corrupt Governor in the 80’s.

    15. Puzzled-Strength-692 on

They are intent on taking peoples social security, Medicare and Medicaid. They also don’t want the government back open because they would have to swear the Lady in and that would mean the Epstein files will be open for all to see.

    16. $40B for Argentina but 40M Americans, including 20M children and 8M elderly, don’t have enough to eat. This is madness.

    17. The one time they don’t like a tax break is when it’s for the working class. Fucking ghouls.

    18. This was an incredibly generous offramp offered by Schumer. Instead they rejected it and appealed a court order to restore SNAP.

      See you in the Midterms.
