I’m yet to see a “leak-proof” battery that doesn’t leak. Especially true when it comes to alkalines.
FAKE EDIT: I avoid Duracells like the plague because, IME, every single appliance where I had a Duracell installed, they leaked. If I have to go for alkalines, I go for Panasonics. My brother, OTOH, only uses Panasonics, and he lost two XBOX controllers due to battery leakage.

These were Zinc-Carbon batteries before letter sizes were adopted. The 4 indicates the length in inches….which is twice the length of the common D cell, already in common usage…guess that must be the Super Size part of the name.
