Just to be clear, that "approximately" is doing a lot of work. His point stands.

    1. Well, you see, if they get fatter before they start to lose that weight, the numbers will make sense.

So like the way to do that would be to put regulations on businesses that make unhealthy food. That and providing incentives for manufacturers creating healthier food are basically the only things that would help. We all know the Republican party isn’t about to put regulations on processed food. The president himself fucking loves processed foods too so not very likely. What is likely is they will slash funding to the FDA and deregulate things like food and supplements, you know, like the exact opposite of helping.

      Let’s do some math –

Current US population is around 348M.

Average US male weighs 200 lbs. Average US female is 171 lbs. There are 98 males for every 100 females in the country.

      That’s 175,757,576 females and 172,242,424 males.

Multiply by the average weights and you get a total of 64,505,032,596 lbs. So, almost half way there.

Let’s now assume that the GOP forces all fertile white women to have babies. Typical childbearing age is 15-44, though that’s probably a conservative estimate and we know the GOP likes ‘em young. Around 72.3% of women between 15-44 are white. So, we can estimate the total white female population capable of getting pregnant at 33.9 million.

If each of those women is forced to give birth in the next year, that’s an additional 33.9 million babies. Average birth weight in the USA is 7.5 lbs, giving us an additional 254,250,000 lbs.

(I’m missing the girls who would turn 15 in the next few months who could then also give birth.)

Even then, we’re still well short of the 135 billion lbs Oz estimates.

    5. These people associated with Trump are con artists and snake oil salesmen. They just can’t have a normal conversation using real numbers to impress people. It’s got to be hyperbolic numbers pulled out of thin air.

It’s one of the so many things I’ve always hated about Trump since the 80s. It’s obnoxious.

    6. Same news conference where they again claimed a 400% reduction in prescription drug prices.

    7. All this fat could provide years of fuel to all those Volkswagen diesel cars rotting away in the Mojave Desert…

    8. You know, just once, I would love to hear these idiots listen to themselves talk. Maybe then they might realize how utterly ridiculous they sound.

Dr. OZ Maga makeover just cracks me up! It’s like he went to a salon and asked for the Donald Trump and comes out looking like Lindsay Graham 🤣

    10. Then Trump said prescription prices are going down by 1500%. He still doesn’t know that’s a stupid thing to say. He’s said it so many times, and either everyone around him has an 8yo’s understanding of math, or they think MAGA is too stupid to understand how silly that is.

    11. He means Pounds, the British currency. That’s how much money Americans will lose by next year.

    12. Maybe if you count the dead people who couldn’t access medical insurance or food. So much hype for such a sad series of costly decision making blunders.

    13. I’d have a problem. I only clock in at 197.02 (last doctor visit). How can I lose an additional 202.98 pounds that I don’t have?
