    1. So you’re saying that the elite are willing to forego substantial capital/property to ensure labor costs stay as low as possible in the long-term? Hm.

I have been through the panhandle many times. Not much there today. Definitely nothing there back then. Not like they gave up a lot to keep the slaves. Tumbleweeds

    3. Fun fact, not everyone waited till the appropriate time to claim land. Some oklahomans jumped the gun and left early to try and claim the best land first. This is where the term Oklahoma Sooner comes from

    4. Generous to refer to Texas as an independent country when it was a foreign invasion of white slave holders who performed a coup against Mexico and they required Us government aid to

It was essential a coup of pro-slavery southerners attempting to steal a new slave state

It’s because Kansas didn’t want to touch Texas. So Oklahoma stepped in separated the two.

    6. I have always been amused at all the land Texas claimed. There is no way they had any real connection to that stuff way up Colorado way.

    7. Just a little casual genocide of what was left of the native tribe land. Doesn’t even rank high enough to mention where that land went. No big deal I guess?

The video didn’t explain why it became Oklahoma. It explained why it isn’t Texas. People claimed land, then it became Oklahoma. Thats the lesson

    9. What an odd way to say “We took more of the Native Indians land even though the Natives had a treaty.”

Because that is what happened. Just up and took it.

    10. Texas: I have an option to choose slavery or no slavery; gonna choose slavery.

      Explains a lot.
