    1. Police and teachers love bullying the neurodivergent.

That said, he hit a teacher who came to de-escalate. Autism doesn’t stop him from knowing better.

Edit: to clarify, I do NOT support calling the police on a child at school. I do however think reasonable consequences are needed.

    2. Sue the absolute flying fuck out of that teacher, school, and district then see what can be legally done against the terrorist in the uniform.

Handcuffed and checking for weapons? I know there are protocols but good god he’s 9! There needs to be different protocols for anyone under 10 or maybe while operating in a lower school building…

Does the USA not have a minimum age of criminal responsibility? In the UK children under 10 (12 in Scotland) cannot be arrested or charged with a crime.

    5. My eldest son has ASD and ADHD.

I just can’t express how thankful I am that we no longer live in the USA.

If I was the cop i would have arrested the teacher for allowing children to fight. Would be nice to hold her for a few hours to correct her behavior. That boy is not the problem

    7. All cops in schools do is turn children into criminals. Sad that some of these students end up with criminal records before graduating, for what should’ve been dealt with by the school without involving law enforcement.

Seriously? A cop gets brought in and cuffs a child?

How about the teachers call the parents and the kid gets sent home for the day/week? You know normal shit.

Or better yet, address why the kid was being bullied

    9. The Teacher has bias against the student and kid was not getting support with the school most likely. This poor kid, he is forever going to fearful now.

Attended public school in NOLA in the early 70s. Any crap went down between kids we took care of it ourselves. Mostly to keep teachers out of our stuff.

This is crazy because kids where I teach assault staff aaaaaall the time and no one gives two shits

    12. How the fuck is this in any way acceptable behavior from an adult who’s charged with caring for a child? And fuck that policeman for doing that to the child. Abhorrent behavior from both adults.

Especially with him having autism, this moment is going to probably mess him up in life or something. I feel bad for the kid ngl. But shame on tye teacher for being softer than a marshmallow and not do something about the bullying. Sometimes things happen when someone has autism, in this case the teacher was accidentally hit when the kid was defending. These teachers need to learn how to understand and deal with autism.

This will traumatize the kid for life… great job America 🇺🇸 smh the system we have here is nuts

    16. On another note. Why should a teacher be expected to accept being assualted? No other profession would accept that bs. If people want inclusion of special need students into the general population. Then they need to actually fund the support required for some of these students including a 1 on 1 aid to stay with the child all day to prevent this behavior.

I hope the parents sue the school for not properly training staff and failing to properly place a child. My son has ASD. He is 8 and starting to deal with bullies. He is mainstreamed in his classes with supports. The school district placed him in a program that was at a school that all teachers, yard duties and aides are trained to support kids on the spectrum while being inclusive as he is high functioning and has a high IQ. I hope that teacher is fired for the trauma that poor child went through. I would be raising hell. There are advocacy groups that can help with that.

    18. Fucking pigs are nothing but a brute squad. Defund those fucking morons. And fire the teacher who doesn’t know how to deal with autistic children. I’m sure the poor little teach was severely injured by a nine year old.

    19. FUCK THIS.

I hope his parents sue the crap out of everybody involved, and get their child into a school that embraces children with challenges. This enrages me.

I work in a school and have been hit by a child, so have many of my coworkers. Fear not though, we didn’t call the police because we’re not fucking insane.

    21. Putting kids under 12 yo in cuffs is insanity. Absolutely nowhere else is it considered normal.

      The US is a hellhole.

Poor kid. My son is Audhd and had outbursts and such last year, but instead of calling the police, they instituted a behavior plan, and we went to the psychiatrist for therapy. He’s doing amazing now. I hope this kid gets the guidance and help he needs, and the teacher gets a permanent case of hemmeroids.

    23. America is so ready to handcuff anyone. In the UK it seems much harder to get cuffed (based on TV at least) and you have to have committed something violent. But I’ve seen US cops handcuff people who aren’t even related to the case on those bodycam vids

    24. This demonstrates a failure of that teacher, the school, that police officer, and his police department. The whole damn district has to answer for this.
