Lets use some additional representations of what a billion actually means, and spread them around a little more…..
The US median income is $40,000. In seconds, that’s just under half of a day.
– US median income in $ to seconds = .5 days.
– $1million in $ to seconds = 12 days
– $1billion in $ to seconds = _**32 YEARS**_
We have heard these words thrown around together so frequently that the true nature of the difference has been obfuscated. It’s perfectly normal, but needs to be addressed more often. The difference between someone being worth just $1 million vs even _just_ $1 billion is _**fucking astounding !!**_.
One more example…
A person who earns $1 million in a year has made about 25 X the median yearly income.
A person who has made $1 billion has made _**25,000 X**_ the median yearly income.
