They would never know material struggle, but they would also never know material indulgence on my dime lol. Be humble, learn some skills

I would set aside enough wealth for my children and future grandchildren to cover their education and purchase their first home. I know for certain that I’d also leave something behind for my siblings to make sure that their families are financially secure in case of emergencies. I’m not sure if it’s possible to have funds designated specifically for healthcare, education, and similar needs, but that would be my first priority before donating the rest to a charitable cause.

I never understood this thought process in rich people. It’s a dog eat dog world and lots of people are one or two paychecks away from poverty. Why wouldn’t you want to leave your child in the best predicament possible? Teach them from young not to be entitled assholes though.

Lol my middle class parents always told me they wont leave me shit, now i do not trust anyone. They would also dangle money as a way to make me bend to their will, otherwise – move out, which i did the second i could.

Leave them everything in your will, but aim to spend it all before you die

I wouldn’t leave them anything other than physical property. All money would be donated. If I raised them right, they’ll be able to take care of themselves. You can leave the world a better place by donating all that money as opposed to handing it down to family.

I seriously think wealthy parents (wisely) tell this to their children so their kids aren’t lazy and entitled expecting a windfall. Bill Gates said the same thing to his kids, but now they’re adults, he bought his daughter a 3 million dollar wedding and an 8-figure condo with full-time security, same with my exponentially less rich but still rich friends. They arent “spoiled” but their parents buy them starter houses in good safe neighborhoods, new safe cars, private school for grandkids etc.

He lying.
He’s gonna leave his son millions but not before contributing to the bullshit notion that there’s something noble about spending your life working to make others richer and that we should all pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.
Also, if he raised them right, there’s no good reason to not give them anything. But maybe he realises that he spent most of their life at work trying to sniff Paula Abdul’s chair when she wasn’t looking.

Jackie Chan is doing the same.
