Was it from a third-party seller? Probably stolen. An Amazon has an issue with third-party items being co-mingled with Amazon items in their warehouses.

That lipstick has seen things… aisles, discounts, and possibly clearance bins.

Amazon said purple but delivered mystery shade 404 color not found.

Somewhere a CVS manager is wondering where their inventory went

Ohhhhh, so *that’s* where all the stuff being stolen from Walgreens and CVS is going, I’ve been wondering lol

this is exactly why I don’t order beauty products from amazon eek, quality control is abysmal and def don’t wanna risk counterfeit beauty items

Did you go back and recheck the seller’s name? A lot of stuff on amazon isn’t sold BY amazon.

I’ve never seen that sticker even on CVS items lol

Call the number on the sticker and tell them where you bought it.

Best case scenario: Someone bought it on clearance last year after Halloween and put it on sale the next year (more common than you may think for lots of seasonal goods).
Worst case scenario: someone stole this and put it online for sale.

Why are people saying stole etc. Things get misdirected all the time and it’s probably just cheaper to leave it where it landed then ship it to where it belonged. Not everything is gloomy.

Honestly, if this was sold by the official Covergirl from Amazon, CG could have sent the wrong box to Amazon for fulfillment purposes. CVS has countless warehouses throughout the USA. I’ve seen a few mixup before. It wouldn’t be the first time a product box went to the wrong address, and it won’t be the last.
I, personally, find it amusing and I would still use the lipstick.

Sorry, but this made me chuckle a little bit. 😄

They probably just grabbed it out of the bin. Each bin has the fakes and the real stuff merged together unless the company pays more to have its own bin. Or at least it was this way a few years ago, hopefully not anymore.

Real Answer:
CVS liquidated merchandise. Nothing wrong with it. Just a slow seller. Merch gets recalled back to vendor and liquidated.
I purchase about 2 truckloads a year. CVS goods are cheap clean and easy to resell.

I’d trust a brand sold at CVS more than I’d trust “PRETTYMADEXIULA Charming Purple Lipstick for Woman Teen Halloween Party Wedding Purple Rose Creamy Lipstick”.
