Most states, that’s illegal because it’s so easy to rip up pavement with the tracks. Every turn, if you aren’t very slow in the turn, it just chews it up.
I used to work on a howitzer. I don’t remember how we fueled them, but I’m pretty sure we had a fuel truck with tires.

After WW2, the US gave a bunch to the Chinese Republic and they are a huge reason why Taiwan remained free from Mainland Communist Control, those tanks were a huge benefit to beating back CCP army’s invasion. When they ran out of ammo, they just ran over soldiers.
The Taiwanese nicknamed these tanks “The Bear of Kinmen”
