A colossal head of Emperor Constantine. "The head, five times bigger than life, shows the emperor Constantine at a rather elderly age and was presumably executed soon after his death in 337 AD. Formerly in the Lateran, the head belongs to the group of bronzes that pope Sixtus IV donated to the Capitol in 1471, thus marking the birth of the Capitoline collection."
