France. undefeated in cuisine, occasionally confused in combat, always dramatic in diplomacy.

TDLR but actually France had a good reputation post war… yep
The rulling class was made up of dudes who endure the maquis, deportation, Free French forces or were in the resistance (not only De Gaulle but many names such as Blum, Mendes France, Edmond Michelet who survived Buchenwald, the main man was Alexandre Sanguinetti who lost a whole leg during the Italian campaign)
So thanks to their clouts and the effort of the ~~ex-vichy army~~ Free French army that France actually had this reputation of a “full resistant nation that managed to rise from ash and managed to take part in the liberation of Europe”
We didn’t contribute much in Ww2 but some sacrifices were not totally forgotten by the allies, a lot of Allies leader did highly complimented the French forces such as Sterling, Clark, Alexander and even Patton.
