lemon juice barrel? The fucking what?

I wasn’t sure if lemon juice barrels were commonplace, but the comment section cleared that up. I wonder if the explanation will lean more geographic or occupational.

This is way more than mildly interesting. Why do you have a 55 gallon drum of lemon juice??

Questions…
1. Why do you have a drum of lemon juice?
2. Why is it sitting outside?
3. How/why did it freeze?

To the people wondering why OP has a giant barrel of lemon juice, I don’t know the answer, but I have an educated guess:
Etching concrete or calcium rich stones. While most people don’t think of lemon juice as a very strong acid, it is absolutely acidic enough to etch the surface of things like some concrete and various stones.
This will neutralize the citric acid relatively quickly, so it isn’t especially practical for, say, dissolving an entire concrete slab, but can be practical and safer for surface etching (partially dissolving the top layer of the concrete or stone).
Alternatively, the lemon juice could obviously be used for more intuitive purposes, like making food and drinks, etc. I just lean towards a more obscure usage, due to it sitting outside in the grass during freezing temperatures. Plus, it may well have been cheaper or less prohibitive than buying a large portion of concentrated citric acid.

So… your barrel (!!!) of already frozen concentrate lemon juice… froze again? I don’t get it.
The contents were presumably already frozen so why did it bulge like that?
