    1. As per the original article:

Trump went on a deranged rant about the power of water to destroy magnets during a rambling address to the U.S. Navy just off the coast of Japan.

Speaking aboard the USS George Washington aircraft carrier during his tour of East Asia, the president appeared to suggest—in a largely incoherent speech—that he is pushing for aircraft carriers to use “steam for the catapults” and hydraulics for elevators, while wrongly claiming that water can disable magnets.

The elderly president was talking about the magnetic catapults used to launch planes from the latest Navy super carriers, the USS Gerald R. Ford class, and the electromagnetic elevators used to move weaponry to the flight deck. Both systems double the speed with which planes can be armed and launched but slowed the delivery and commissioning of the $13 billion flagship of the class.

“You know, the new thing is magnets. So instead of using hydraulic that can be hit by lightning and it’s fine. You take a little glass of water, you drop it on magnets, I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Trump said.

“So, you know, the elevators come up in the new carriers—I think I’m going to change it, by the way—they have magnets. Every tractor has hydraulic, every excavator, every excavating machine of any kind has hydraulic. But somebody decided to use magnets.”

“I’m going to sign an executive order. When we build aircraft carriers, it’s steam for the catapults and it’s hydraulic for the elevators. We’ll never have a problem,” Trump said. “He agrees. Everybody agrees. But, ahh, these people in Washington.”

Trump has labored under the misunderstanding that magnets are somehow destroyed by water for at least 18 months.

    2. The USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier has a *magnetic* launch system. Of course, it doesn’t give a damn about water.

    3. It’s 4 d chess, unfortunately only the smartest people can understand. When due in time, everyone would appreciate the great work and thoughtfulness of this stable genius.

      Thank you.

Every old person I know who is overwhelmed by new technology is like this. “Why would they come up with this new garbage? We don’t need this, the way we did it back then worked just fine!” They are like this because they don’t understand it or simply do not have the capability to assimilate ‘complex’ information anymore and that makes them feel useless, stupid and inferior. Thus they get riled up and angry. And whilst that is perfectly fine and excusable for ones grandpa, because he can just keep on using his old stuff, it is a terrifying characteristic for the head of state of a modern, western country. Especially when he has also a severe dementia. And is a habitual liar and narcissist.

    5. And all the while the troops smiled and clapped. Smh. The real facepalm isn’t the idiot we elected. It’s the reaction by people who should know better after he demonstrated just how bad he is.

Maybe I am wrong, but did we also make fun of Biden here when he had no clue what was going on?

    7. He’s a Titan of Cognition. No one cognitions like him. Grown cognicators, with tears in their eyes…

    8. He is still going on about electromagnetic catapults on aircraft carriers?

Yes they had some teething issues when they were new but they are the future.

Somebody told him many years ago about the new tech and he got that idea stuck in his head ever since and has been raging against it for years now.

    9. The 79 year old President then sneeze-farted and pretended it was a duck, told reporters “this one steals from me” while nodding at his aide, and complained loudly about the “ethnic food” he was served.

    10. Uh oh. And he was so proud of his perfect MRI. Nobody tell him what the “M’ in “MRI’ stands for. He might order those to be converted to steam as well.

Yeah… it doesn’t matter anymore… that whole crowd was going nuts to see him.. I’ve given up. This country is fucked.

I’ve long thought he’d get dumped after midterms when his perceived vote-getting usefulness ends, but I don’t know if his puppet masters can wait that long.

This goes to his cognitive decline and his incessant need to lie.

He said, “I’m going to say ‘steam’ and then ‘electric’.” Expecting the navy to respond to each with their approval. Then he proceeds to say “electric” first and then “steam”. He can’t even speak truth from one sentence to the next.

Yes, I know it’s pedantic, but he’s the president. We are allowed to be a bit pedantic when it comes the “leader of the ‘free’ world”.

    14. Mr Trumpstein. Please demonstrate how putting lithium in your mouth with a glass of water is harmless.
