These assholes assume that the people who are getting food stamps have *never* worked. Many have paid a lifetime’s worth of taxes in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and now they’re getting $250 a month to eat because they need it.

It has nothing to do with the money, which is trivial compared to the overall budget of the US – especially military funding – they just hate that anyone else besides themselves get something from the government. The same people who got their $500,000 COVID loans forgiven are pissed off because someone might get hundreds to simply eat.

This fucking racist is even worse. There are just as many red state rural alcoholic fat fuck opioid addicts getting assistance, and that’s fine with me. We’re all Americans. If republicans would help fix the wealth gap, this wouldn’t be a fucking problem.

    2. Weird that they complain about (white) people not breeding enough only to complain about people breeding.

What a dumbfuck. People with jobs are on foodstamps lol. Maybe get corporations to pay people a fair fucking wage, and then there wouldn’t be 44 million people on them.

    4. The laziest person on food stamps prolly works harder than this rank piece of shit. Really, a politician calling anyone else lazy? No one on earth gets less done than a US politician. Fucking deliver me!

      A few random thoughts.

SNAP costs the median tax payer less than $40 per year.

Societies are judged by how they treat the most vulnerable among them.

A lot of SNAP beneficiaries are kids, about 40%.

That is some racist shit right there.

    6. there is a group of people that will see this and believe that everyone on food stamps doesn’t have a job etc. when the reality corporations build their workforce not giving people raises, limiting their hours, limiting promotions to ensure that they don’t have to pay an employees that let’s say wants to sign up their families for health insurance through their employer to ensure they don’t have to pay their employees familiy premiums. So they limit their pay to make sure that family qualifies for Medicaid or SNAP benefits.

I used to process these applications in TX, it’s all a game to corporations. You would have employees making $25 an hour but only given 20 hours of work per pay period, same company you would have another employee given 50 hours but paid $10 dollars. At the end both employees made the same for pay period but not enough to qualify for employer provided insurance and still eligible for government benefits.

In turn corporations get tax credit for having these individuals employed. But the simple minded will blame a single mother working two jobs on benefits for their short comings.

    7. Each ice agent is probably wearing $2000 worth of gear to abduct unarmed people. They got a $50k signing bonus, that’s 200 months of SNAP benefits, or 200 families for one month.

The real welfare queens are the privatized prisons, ice, and these enemies of the state who get lifetime healthcare.

    8. If I had a bunch of money, I would put this shit on billboards in their home district. Too many of the people that vote don’t use social media and have no clue what their reps really think about them. They only see the big R by their name.

Probably pissing in the wind but out these people for the hateful racist jerks they are.

This MFer is worse than the wicked witch of the west with how much he’s hating this strawman

    10. Does he imagine only people of colour are on food stamps because the very loud dog whistle here seems to suggest so. Maybe he needs to fix his culture of being a raging ahole.

    11. No no, see white kids in the Heartland use food stamps because they’re down on their luck after Democrat policies shut down the coal mines and shipped factory jobs overseas.

“Ghetto” people are taking advantage of the system. And immigrants are being lazy while stealing American jobs.

      Hope that clears things up

Get off your lazy asses, all you Amazon workers pulling 60-hour weeks who still need SNAP because rent for a 2BR apartment averages $2k/month and healthcare premiums will shortly cost about as much!

    13. SomeNotTakenName on

I am not even sure I could get SNAP now with a greencard. I have been paying taxes though, since before getting the greencard, when I most definitely wasn’t eligible. *

So yeah sure it’s all immigrants who have to prove they won’t need financial assistance to get their status…

*For my DHS agent, I was working within the legal bounds of my visa as a non immigrant.

      “Ghetto”

The racist rhetoric gets louder and bolder everyday. They’re trying to normalize this type of bullshit and it’s gross.

    15. This way of thinking is nothing new, especially on the right. They just seem more emboldened lately about being obnoxiously loud about it.

      Cruel, horrible people.

    16. >stop having children

Ha, as if you’d want the poors to stop making the next generation of wage slaves, you just don’t wanna pay for it

    17. This guy doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want MAGA to understand how assistance works.

SNAP, and most assistance, comes with a work requirement, unless the recipient cannot work (underage, disabled, or old). 55% of households getting SNAP have at least one member working right now. 87% of households getting SNAP had at least one member working in the last 12 months, where this typically means that after losing that job, they needed assistance.

74% of households on assistance are off assistance within 6 months. Most households only spend 2 periods on assistance.

Most kinds of assistance have a 60 month cumulative limit, other than kids under 16, disabled and over 60.

Nobody capable of working is living on permanent assistance, it is actually doing what it’s means tested intent is for, to help households get out of poverty.

Ironic that he’s piping up about this now, as his home state of Iowa where he grew up and attended college and law school, is experiencing a local economic depression that is hitting them worse than the Great Depression, due to recent policies.

    18. We always the up here. We are at “young bucks and welfare queens” again (only now more racist somehow?????).

They don’t don’t understand that their people use SNAP too.

    19. This lazy fucker couldn’t ever conceive  of working as hard as the people on food stamps have to just to make it through one more day.

Gotta love all the blatant racism in the post as well, as though the majority of people on food stamps aren’t fucking white people (62.7% in 2020) and it’s just all the “ghetto” people (hmmmmm wonder what that was a dog-whistle for?)

This guy is just lying about shit too, blatently, lying like the existing work requirements for SNAP don’t exist and aren’t easily accessible, and ignoring that 32% of SNAP recipients are fucking 14 or younger, that 11% are 65+ and therefor retired or often inelligibke to work, OR the number of disabled people of all ages and demographics that rely on SNAP to feed them.

This is just profoundly disgusting on multiple levels. This man 100% knows these realities, and is chosing to lie and spread hatred for the most vulnerable among us.

      Fucking dispicable…

    20. “Stop reproducing.” What happened to the falling birth rate the right is so concerned about?

    21. Allmightredriotv2 on

So this guy thinks roughly 9% of the country is on food stamps because they’re lazy? Not because the economy is broken? Alright buddy.

    22. Approximately 1.2 million veterans in the U.S. rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

    23. UnluckyCardiologist9 on

Hey asshole. Maybe cause in some states like Iowa, where you are from, minimum wage is still $7.25. That’s $1,160 a month full time, 40 hrs a week.
