If you lower your seat onto the person behind you, I automatically hate you

    1. I’m 6’3, wear a size 14 shoe, and I’m a 3x shirt. I’m already borderline a giant compared to normal human size standards.

If I want to recline my seat and that gives you a sense of power and valorous indignation, that’s a you problem. I paid for my seat and its full function. I am making the best of it. You can too.

    2. Flight under two or three hours? Maybe an inch or two. International or cross-country redeye and meal time’s over? My seat’s coming down and I’m going to sleep. The person behind me should do the same.

And that’s why i pick the seats at the back of a section; so i can lean back without disturbing anyone

    4. If you pay for a seat somewhere and it and all other seats around it have certain functionalities, you and everyone else around you are free to use those functionalities.

If you can’t handle being in public spaces where people are simply utilizing the basic functionalities of the appliances they are using, I automatically hate you.

    5. When a person purchases their seat, they purchase the right to use their seat. The seat reclines. A ticket purchaser has a right to recline their seat.

If the person behind them doesn’t like it, then they can either recline their seat or purchase a seat thanoffers more space.

    6. Another case of redditors not blaming the shitty company and instead get mad at each other.

It’s the airlines fault that you have no room, not the person in front of you reclining their seat an inch and a half.

    7. I am not doing anything wrong. It is a function of seat I paid for. Ask airlines to disable it.

    8. the seat goes back 2 inches + theirs can too

People sensitive to offense/rudeness usually overblow some minor inconvenience or tiny self serving, unaware they are the rude and offensive one

    9. I went on a plane like 6 times in my life, the last time was almost 17 years ago, but from what I remember the seats recline so little that it doesn’t really make a difference in terms of space available. Unless you get mad because you lose 2 inches of space. Maybe it depends on the airline too.

It’s like a half inch-an inch. I barely even notice it’s been lowered from the standpoint of the person in the chair or the person behind them.

    11. Honestly these opinions should fuck off. Go and complain to the airline that they want to cram so many people in that there’s not enough space rather than moaning at people who just want to be comfortable.

    12. Most airplanes only let you “recline” the seat by like an inch or two. Not “onto the person behind you.”

    13. I paid for this seat. It includes a recline button. I’m using it. Make peace with that reality however you need to.

    14. Not as much as I’ll hate you for sitting in the middle seat. How dare you? This flight was going to be so nice, too.

    15. I am 6ft, I have no issue with the person in front of me reclining their seat on the plane… stop being a bunch of whiny babies.

    16. Fuck that noise, I’m reclining that 4 centimeters and if you don’t like it ya can eat a bag of dicks.

I’m 6’1 240lbs. I’ve never encountered a situation in a plane when the person in front of me lowered their seat “onto”, “into”, or “upon” my person.

    18. Legitimate_Bison_733 on

The proper etiquette is to take a brief look back and then recline slowly.

Sorry, but with that viewpoint you actually hate the airlines seats, not the people that occupy them

    19. I paid for my seat and will def sleep on my 12 hour flights. If it bothers you so much recline your seat too.

    20. Fourfifteen415 on

If everyone reclines then the space between seats does change. Upright flyers are the real problem.

    21. Deranged_Coconut808 on

the seat has a recline function, im gonna use it. what stupid meme is this. sounds like OP needs to room to put their feet up.

    22. Yeah, I’m definitely going to be reclining that chair, especially if it’s a flight to like Japan. You’re telling me I should feel ashamed for reclining my chair, for a 13 hour flight that I paid $1000+ for? You’re absolutely insane

    23. It’s those who keep it lowered during food servings I have an issue with. Happened twice that a person just sits up straight to eat while leaving their seat lowered. Either very unaware and stupid or just lazy assholes

    24. It’s crazy they have us focusing on fighting each other instead of asking them why they don’t build planes with adequate leg room anymore…
