October 27, 2025In 1822, a white stork found in Germany with a 75 cm spear from central Africa stucked to its neck, demonstrated that birds migrated rather than hibernating or changing form in winter. The specimen was subsequently stuffed and is now housed at the Zoological Collection Rostock [2457×3994]
