The Russian Empire was over after the defeat against Japan.
They became Joever when they began losing WW1.
Then they were Totallen Joever when the Russian Revolution and Civil War happened

    2. I formed my own house grown theory about Russia: It’s split between the Novgorodians and the Moscovites. The Novgorodians believe in trade, freedom and education. The Moscovites in the Church, the aristocracy and the army. The Moscovites rule through sheer power but the Novgorodians always push for reform. When the Moscovites inevitably commit a disaster and feel things slipping from them, they grant the Novgorodians some concessions, then as soon as the Novgorodians fix things enough, the Moscovites break the Novgorodians’ hands and take the reins back.

But the Communists, the Soviet Union? It was only the Moscovites with a new branding. Instead of Church, aristocracy and the army, Russia got Marxism, the Party and the Red Army. Centered in Moscow.

    3. Controversial, but Witte acted far beyond what he was actually capable of.

His abilities beyond his economic ones, were atrocious and he also had no real clue on how to solve Russia’s agricultural problem, a massive problem for the late Imperial Russia.
