    1. That bridge certainly fared better than the one in Cle Elum, WA. Its a teardown/replace. It was also hit with a few more lbs.

    2. Years ago a dump truck went under a train trestle near my hometown with the dump bed partially elevated (?!). Hit the trestle and the cab of the truck lifted up and smashed on the underside of the trestle. Killed the driver.

    3. Why is there not a “raised bed” alert in these trucks? It couldn’t be that difficult to implement

    4. The driver really lucked out. Years ago in my area a dumptruck driver was going down the highway with his bed up. He went under a bridge, caught the bed on the bridge and flipped the truck up, crushing the cab and killing him.

    5. When a dump truck outgrows its shell it will utilize the help of a bridge to aid in the molting process.

    6. So just curious, what’s the procedure after something like this? Just a visual inspection of the bridge? Anything more in depth? Or does it depend on the weight of whatever hit it?

    7. The title should be

“Asshole trying to empty truck bed on interstate gets caught by overpass”

    8. Sometimes it happens because the directional valve goes bad and it goes up without the driver knowing it.

    9. Lots of dumb/drugged out truck drivers this week. Guy in CA who plowed into 4 cars without hitting the brakes. Guy who didnt know his truck height hit an overpass in WA.

    10. “This bridge remodel is going to be a disaster. I just found out the dump truck bed is load bearing.”
