windows reboots like three times while updating, ig it shuts down after the update completes fully instead of shutting down immediately.

Is that a universal PC law..haha, EVERY single time I just want to close it quickly, it forses me to update, why is the timing always perfectly inconvenient

Feels like clicking ‘unsubscribe’ and getting a ‘we’re sad to see you go’ followed by 3 more emails.

Every single time I just want to go to bed, my PC decides it’s update o’clock.

    7. Update and shit down haven’t worked for many years. I would be genuinely impressed if it one day decided to do what it’s designed to do

    8. Update and restart will often involve at least one boot cycle, because it has to stage files that need to be installed in a recovery-type environment. There can also be time-consuming processes to complete once back in a full environment, and you wouldn’t want to have to wait for them when you start up for real tomorrow morning.

So you’d expect ‘update and shut down’ to go through a couple of boot cycles, but in my experience always finishes with the computer in an off state, as requested.

    9. If you have this problem then you never update your pc. Check for updates a couple times a week and you’ll be fine. Then you can let Windows download and install the updates on the background and you can reboot your pc when convenient. Also Microsoft recently announced hotpatches for updates where rebooting isn’t necessary anymore.
