Shows where his priorities are (or aren’t).

Is this a metaphor for how he’s bulldozing the country?

      This is fucking ridiculous

      Also really, really sad

The east wing has been there for over a century and now it’s being torn down by a power-hungry pedophilic president for some gaudy ballroom that the founding fathers would almost certainly disagree with

    3. This will be in that special dark chapter in the history books. Once we restore facts and logic to the administration. If that’s even possible anymore.

    4. Trump ran on demolishing the White House, promises made, promises kept.

(or did he run on bigotry…. I sometimes forget)

People aren’t getting paid, people losing food assistance and Healthcare in a government that has all three branches led by republicans. But by all means, build that fancy ballroom and arch so all the dictators can party. I’m sure it will he as classy and tasteful as everything else he’s touched.

    6. Man that building is gonna be RIDDLED with bugs. I don’t even know if it can be salvaged after Trump? How do you have any kind of opsec when you have absolutely no idea who had access or what was done by whom? Because I *highly* doubt any of the people overseeing this mess is going to be keeping meticulous notes, or ensuring rigorous background checks. Especially given how lax and sloppy they have been about those before.

New infinite money glitch: become president -> Sue the government you control -> Settle lawsuit with yourself -> Repeat

    8. just as you could tell the age of certain movies if the World Trade Center is present in New York, we will now be able to tell the same thing with the white house east wing in Washington D.C.

Everything Trump is doing is giving me the indication that he does not plan to leave the White House when his term is over. And it’s fucking scary.

    10. Good job MAGA supporters. You elected a convicted felon who is rinsing your pockets to line his own. There will be a huge gold statue of him made from gold soon.

    11. Im surprised there isnt more outrage….this is no different than changing/defacing Mount Rushmore or the Statue of Liberty/Washingtong Monument/Lincoln Memorial….this is just the start of this wannabe-dictators renovations.

    12. When is he going to start selling pieces of the White House for “REAL patriots?”

      What a complete worm.

    13. An act of sheer vandalism. Imagine any sensible country defacing a historical heritage landmark like this. It’s insane

    14. It’s fucking disgusting. This is just one more damn thing to despise about this administration.

    15. Will the Ball room be built by “true american patriots” or will immigrants do the shit part of the job before not getting paid and deported?

    16. Can someone put these up next to the ~~Right~~ Reich-Wing comments online about how they were ‘only’ going to demolish a walkway?

The only reason he is doing this is to have a permanent stamp on this historical building for the rest of US history.

The White House is a historic, public building and technically belongs to the American people, not the sitting president. In the past, renovations and additions are usually handled through Congressional approval and preservation committees, ensuring historical integrity and transparency.

This gigantic and wildly unprecedented decision for a sitting president to say he’s got “private funding” secured should be raising the highest level of ethical and conflict-of-interest concerns.

What does this mean from a historical and ethical perspective? He’s treating this like it’s his personal home, and the optics of it in the midst of pulling back funding for stuff is beyond messed up. 10 years ago if you would have asked me if something like this could happen, I’d think you were nuts. Like surely there are laws, regulations, ethics, security concerns in place that would put a stop to this type of thing happening.

    19. The u.s. might never recover from this all. It will be a permanent stain in the country’s history.

So real question… As it stands, has trump done more physical damage to the White House than the British during 1812?

    21. If we get past this regime, I hope that the next president seizes all assets owned by every member of the Trump family to pay for this ballroom to be torn down and the East Wing and Rose Garden brought back to its glory.

      Trump is a pedophile
