This is why buying smart products because they’re cool is not always a great idea.
You know what doesn’t care at all about AWS? Basically any other filtering

Dumb products are far superior. Smart products are gimmicks.

My tap still works when that happens. So does the brita filter in the fridge.

Why does a water purifier need to be smart?

If you buy one of these types products, get it setup and working, then power your router off. Make sure it still works. If not, return it (or figure it out if you’re so inclined)

There are many smart products use cloud/internet but do not depend on it to work. Whoever designed the software for this device is either a moron or simply put together open source code without understanding how any of it worked.

Smart water purifier?

Welcome to the future. All these products are great until we have a disruption in service then we wish we had more dumb appliances. Your car registration is past due, it is disabled. Your rent is late, your smart lock won’t open. Good times ahead.

What’s wrong with just a Brita pitcher with filter? (Or any equivalent system)

this is why I only use appliances that dont do that lol.

I started looking at new washer/dryers as ours are 20+ years old. Most of them have wi-fi & smart features. Why do I need to do laundry from my phone? How does that even work?
I don’t want smart features on appliances. It’s ridiculous.

Maybe you don’t need a water filter connected to the internet?

That’s on you for buying a water dispenser that needs an internet connection to operate. What did you think was going to happen?

Who the hell needs a smart water purifier???????

I saw an article about a $2000 “Smart Bed” (whatever the fuck that is) that used AWS and people had their beds stuck in weird positions and the heaters in them were overheating because AWS was down and none of the controls worked.
The future is stupid.

That’s what you get for having the terrible device and supporting them. Now return it for a refund.

There’s a whole lot of devices that do not need to be “smart” and this is one of them.
