Imagine being the person who has to set the automatic doors to open at exactly 06:46 every day.

    2. Is it not because it closes in the 46th minute?

Once it reaches 12:45 it rounds up.

      I’m sure I’ve heard this somewhere before… but I can’t remember where.

Maybe there’s a cultural significance to 46 in Sweden?
Edit: wow, sorry I even spoke!

    4. My local Austrian hardware store used to close at 19:42. Turns out that gave them 90 more minutes to be open on a Saturday as total weekly opening time is regulated in Austria.

    5. If you think about it, it’s exactly as specific as 6:30-23:30.

It’s just given hours and minutes

Employees come in at 6:30 to open and the ones who close leave at exactly 00:00. Or they are actually open from 7 to midnight, and they have those hours posted for fun.

Seems like it’s for their convenience.

    7. It was to get the longest opening hours in Sweden at the time they set those time. If i remember correctly.
