Imagine being the person who has to set the automatic doors to open at exactly 06:46 every day.

They got 14 minutes to close the store before midnight. They can’t work *nights.*

Is it not because it closes in the 46th minute?
Once it reaches 12:45 it rounds up.
I’m sure I’ve heard this somewhere before… but I can’t remember where.

Maybe there’s a cultural significance to 46 in Sweden?
Edit: wow, sorry I even spoke!

My local Austrian hardware store used to close at 19:42. Turns out that gave them 90 more minutes to be open on a Saturday as total weekly opening time is regulated in Austria.

Decent price on Bregott. Worth the drive.

I mean… Is it *really* any more specific than 06:00 – 23:00?

If you think about it, it’s exactly as specific as 6:30-23:30.
Employees come in at 6:30 to open and the ones who close leave at exactly 00:00. Or they are actually open from 7 to midnight, and they have those hours posted for fun.
Seems like it’s for their convenience.

All times are specific… 7:00 am – 5:00 pm is just as specific as any other time.

It was to get the longest opening hours in Sweden at the time they set those time. If i remember correctly.
