Such a weird time for geopolitics, like the nation state equivalent of a married couple drawing a dotted line on the floor and each deciding to stay on their side of it while still technically being married, like everyone knows they’re still together but just nod along as they shit talk the other despite them being pretty much the same thing.

The fates of each of these are tbh quite interesting
One ends with the democratic capitalist government absorbing the other
One ends with communism being embraced and in fact the regime is closer to the US than the PRC
One is still very bitterly divided
