From what I understand this is pretty common with larger winning tickets, you match a lot or all of the numbers. Makes it more exciting when you win to keep scratching off more winnings!

    2. Congrats, but they do this on purpose to make you feel like you got a really lucky win. The ticket is either a winner of a certain value or a loser. Doesn’t matter how they display it.

You don’t even need to scratch anything on scratcher tickets. It’s just how they feed the gambling dopamine hit. Regardless of what you scratch or don’t scratch they just scan the back and their system says id you won or not.

    4. I have had this happen once, it was a $1 scratcher, and I got $2/spot for $18 haha. Very fun

Sweet. I had the same thing a few years back, $100 win on a $5 scratch off. Couldn’t help feeling greedy and wishing it was more, but that was $95 I didn’t have otherwise.

    6. My coworker is consistently winning $100, $250, and $500 tickets. I have no idea how some people get that lucky but seems like a pretty viable retirement plan

    7. Not really interesting at all. A ticket is either a winner or a loser. The breakdown within the ticket is irrelevant. This ticket didn’t win “more” than a ticket that matched one number for a higher amount.

I did this once when I was in school and had no money for food. Scratched every square and nearly cried while doing it. Total came to $500 and it helped me get through an entire month.

I’m sure there’s some state differences but in New York every losing ticket has one real close to a big payout (like having a 72 but the million dollar winner is 73)

And winning tickets tend to have several smaller prizes instead of one larger

Well with any luck you cashed it out before posting that bar code. I’m at work right now and I’m tempted to scan that bar code
