free of cost reliable bus service is definitely possible in New York. Look at the bus that connects East River Ferry.

He’s right, but I think that $700M could be better spent than outright free busses. Expanded routes, maintenance, etc, just as a basic example. It won’t be $700M forever. Many European countries have solid and reliable public transit and they are not free, but still very inexpensive. You need at least a small fare to prevent misuse and abuse of the system, and subsidize some costs.

    3. I love the Stalin Communist’s (middle guys) argument that free buses wouldn’t work because too many people now *don’t pay the fare*.

That’s right, we can’t have free buses because people already aren’t paying for their fare.

    4. We have been saying for years that subsidizing the bottom 99% would be cheaper than subsidizing the top 1%, but how else would we get exclusive resorts and private neighborhoods 🤔

    5. I will readily admit that I have no idea about this, but these things are frequently very misleading because one is a one time payment and the other is a yearly payment. Is this the case here?

And did Tesla really get almost a billion without a repayment clause if they didn’t build the factory?

In the immortal words of the warrior poet Tupac

Public transportation is a service provided by the government. That has a budget like police or fire services. Its also doesnt have to be profitable, much like the aforementioned services arent required to.

    8. There was an ad for Cuomo ads that had a man on the street type thing and it said I may not agree with everything Andrew Cuomo stands for but he gets things done.

And my first thought was, “like resigning in disgrace after multiple allegations of sexual harassment”
