Two wildly different atmosphere. Id get hammered off of happy hour drinks at Applebee’s, id go to IHOP after I was hammered.

    2. I miss when IHOP buildings looked interesting. This looks like an accountant’s toolshed.

    3. This seems like a good idea… pairing a restaurant with mostly breakfast crowds with a later-in-the-day restaurant. More efficient use of space and maybe more staff for flexibility with shifts.

It’s because of generic buildings that this will continue to happen. Ever wonder why everything is turning into grey and white boxes anymore? *It’s about the resale & property value.*

There’s one of each next to each other here. I didn’t know they were owned by the same company lol

    6. The restaurant equivalent of part two movie sequels.  Instead of just coming up with a brand new restaurant

Last I went to an IHOP I longed for the service and cleanliness of Waffle House haha. Ours just lists itself as a few different ghost restaurants on delivery services like “NASCAR Wings” lol.
I don’t think of Applebee’s as a high tier, but steps above IHOP.

Now if you’d asked me in the 90s I’d have a better opinion of IHOP.

    8. There’s a Cox Rd where I used to live along with an IHOP. Therefore it’s referred to as the IHOP on Cox.

    9. I mean, it’s not the most awful idea. While I’m sure there are people who go to Ihop at all hours, the majority of their business is almost certainly the breakfast crowd. Then Applebees (which doesn’t have breakfast) sees use of the space for the lunch and dinner crowd. Space is maximized.
