See I’m going to look at this picture and think “Damnit people, face shields are supposed to be used WITH masks. Face shields alone offered minimal protection”.

Easy to say in hindsight but nobody knew how it was going to unfold. Initially it seemed we’d never return to normal

Clearly these people have no idea how hard it is to move a wedding date after everything has been booked and all the down payments made

You clearly don’t know how hard it would be to reschedule a wedding.

Jokes aside, If we waited..my nana wouldn’t have made it to the re-scheduled date.
We cut the list in half and moved it outside. No face shields, to be clear, but also no regrets.

Also, wasn’t this mask basically useless without a cloth or disposable mask underneath?

Nah, not at all. Not only did we not know how long it would be, but we also had family and friends dying. If you waited a year, grandpa might not see it.

People will think it was silly but it totally made no sense for a lot of people to delay something indefinitely, and to do so after months of planning and adjusting plans.

No, let them cook. This is a great document of a moment in time. Weddings are hard and stressful I’m sure this was unique and beautiful.

Had a wedding right after the lockdowns started. No masks and everyone was there. Everyone took photos like normal and no one reported getting sick. About 200 guests.

My sister and her fiancé called my Dad the day before my state went on lockdown and asked if he and mom wanted to come to a wedding that afternoon. They got married on the lawn in front of their church with just the parents, our youngest sister, the pastor, and photographer. They had the wedding reception two years later after everything calmed down.
