Photos from the opening ceremony of the Lenin monument in Ust-Ordynsky, Irkutsk Oblast, Buryat Autonomous District 1987, at the twilight of the Soviet era, during Perestroika.
Interestingly, this statue was erected just a few years before the collapse of the USSR, a rare glimpse of late-Soviet optimism.
