It’s really interesting to see how many people blame PAC bombings on the ANC

As a South African history buff, i sometimes talk to people who mistake attacks by the PAC (primarily on civilians) for ANC ones.

The PAC was a splinter group of the ANC, and while the ANC were relatively above board with its acts of resistance against Apartheid, the PAC was very invested in targeting civilians.

      > The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania, often shortened to the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), is a South African pan-Africanist national liberation movement. It was founded by an Africanist group, led by Robert Sobukwe, that broke away from the African National Congress (ANC) in 1959, as the PAC objected to the ANC’s theory that “the land belongs to all who live in it both white and black” and also rejected a multiracialist worldview, instead advocating a South Africa based on black African nationalism

I am not saying it is because of racism. I am just saying the people confusing the 2 organisations sometimes also insists Apartheid wasn’t that bad

And yes, if you are wondering, the guy who told me something like this has a not-white gf
