Save food waste

    1. I believe this is to prevent people from buying the freshest things on the shelf. Which is kinda dumb.

Stores will stock the shelves with new items, while older ones are still out there. And people will just grab the newer ones. I do it all the time.

So I get why they do it, but a better way would be to just not put out the new stuff until the old stuff is gone.

    2. I mean its fruits in veggies you can still see if its still good or not.

    3. I work in this company, the best before date is still there its just not labeled as such

    4. My grandmother will take perfectly good food and throw it away because the best by date was yesterday so yea,I get what they’d be going for.

Every packed fruit or veg in Sainsbury’s still has best before date and it’s checked daily, this must be one off or simply missed. Every now and then these even come like this from most recent delivery and would be removed when spotted by staff.

If only there was a way to determine whether you should eat it. I guess we’ll never know.

Yeah, ’cause removing the best before date will prevent the wastage of food that spoils.

People will test the fruit/veg, determine that it’s spoiled (even if its not) and still dispose of it
