I think it’s a combination of positioning herself to be a ‘reasonable voice’ in the coming MAGA infighting and also listening to her kids telling her how bad the economy is for younger less established people. She’s mentioned her kids a couple times when she talks about high prices.

She’s not saying anything that isn’t obviously true and honestly it’s refreshing to hear from any Republican. My local rep posted the standard “radical left shut down the government, they’re terrible blah blah.” Her brand has always been loud and outspoken – it’s usually hateful rhetoric and Jewish space lasers style but it’s worked for her and her supporters expect it. I’m not sure what the end game is for all these Republicans denying the obvious truth here, honestly it’s not smart politically at this point.

I wonder if she has heard certain rumours currently circulating around Washington, and is , in her own way, trying to separate herself from this administration.
Noem seems to be digging her heels in, mainly because she is the ugly face of ICE and cant find any reason to withdraw.
Even Loomer just recently distanced herself from this administration claiming it was because of the Qatar situation .
But then again, these people are opportunists so it all remains to be seen.
But you do have to wonder who Trump was crying out to recently in regard to the Jan 6 crowd to “do something!”- can’t he do it himself?
