Once at a yard party in Czechia, we had opaque plastic cups filled with beer on a table and played some drinking game where you’d pick up one and chug it. I felt something slimy slip down with the beer and at first I thought it was a gummy bear, because one person had them and would put them in her beer. I tried biting into it but it felt too large to be a gummy bear, so I spit it out. It was a slug. Yummy.
A few months later I read a story of a dude who, as a dare, ate a slug, got some brain parasite and died like 6 months later. He didn’t have any symptoms for months and then just died very quickly. I was pretty scared for a while lol.

This is a great way to catch slugs from eating your growing produce in the veg plot.
What we do is use the cut bottoms of plastic bottles, bury them in the soil at the edge of the plot and fill it with cheap beer (we use dregs from our homebrewed beer) or squash. Only issue with squash is attracting flies etc due to the sweetness.
We catch a good amount and protect our veggies pretty well with them. For extra security, border the plot with drainpipe guttering full of the cheap beer dregs too.
