    1. Here is what the description at the museum said:

      “Colossal arm of a statue of Zeus. Marble. Found at Aigeira, Achaia, along with the head inv. no. 3377. The hand belonged to a larger than life-sized cult statue of the god, carved by the Athenian sculptor Eukleides, according to the travel-writer of the 2nd c. AD, Pausanias. The left arm of the statue of Zeus is bent at the elbow. The god held his sceptre in this bent at the elbow left hand. Second half of the 2nd c. BC.”
