Honestly, I’d settle for one where I can still fix it with a wrench instead of a software update.

    2. well yes, basically every car since the 90s has an engine computer that translates your throttle pedals signal into how much it drives the fuel injectors, adjusts timing, and air to fuel ratio for better combustion and to make use of the catalytic converter.

we should really do away with the huge entertainment systems in the car though. lets bring back physical knobs

I’d tell you to go get a wagon, but that requires an animal (flesh computer) to pull it.

    4. Don’t use your phone while driving! Instead, use the iPad infotainment screen. We added an iPad instrument cluster for easy viewing. We have also added an iPad passenger screen. There’s also an iPad for the rear seat passengers to control the shades and stuff. We have a TV on the roof too to play your favourite movies!

It’s not tye computation so much that is an issue, but the interface can be a bit less… boring, along with everything else really. Like, make cars interesting again

    6. the car using a computer isn’t a bad thing.

the bad thing is how the computers are now being integrated into modern cars…

      i blame Tesla.

    7. Yeah that’s too much to ask for. The fact that you’re asking that tells me you don’t know how important computers are for cars.

    8. I understand OP’s exaggeration with the 0% bc the tech in cars has gotten way out of hand.

Just give me better public transit.

I don’t need a car at all if I can access everything by train, bus, subway, and walking!

    10. Then you can buy a Lada – Absolutely analog, zero elektroniks… Might drive, might not, but who cares when it is zero computer… right?

    11. Bye bye cruise control, bye bye ABS, bye bye Bluetooth and radio, bye bye any and all warning lights, bye bye automatic headlights, bye bye interior lighting.

    12. I have a friend who gave up his job as a car mechanic because he had enough of troubleshooting useless software for hours on end instead of fixing cars. For him the last straw was a software crash after apparently not turning off the windscreen wipers correctly resulting in a complete engine failure lmao

Everyone in the comment section hating on OP for knowing nothing about cars.
And how Every car from the 90’s has some kind of computer.

And I’m over here agreeing with OP, while driving a 66 with absolutely ZERO computers of any kind.

Such a car would probably not be allowed on the road, as there would be no computer regulating the air to fuel ratio to make a catalytic converter functional.

    15. Remove the hydraulics while youre at it. If you cant steer/brake you shouldnt be driving!

And the stupid fucking push buttons. I can’t stop leaving my keys in the car because I don’t physically need them to turn the car off.
