    1. To be fair, the flavor does change when tomatoes are cooked. Some things (like the acidity) are more prominent when it’s raw. Like me personally I don’t mind pickles on a burger but id never eat a pickle straight up.

all these mfs out here eating sugar cookies, cakes, and pies but suddenly when I hand them a bottle of pure vanilla extract they’re like “ewww that’s gross why do you drink that!?” Like you weren’t already drinking vanilla extract with all those damn desserts? Smh fml :rolling_eyes_emoji:

How many times this meme has been reposted? It feels like I see this once a month.

    4. it’s almost as if texture and taste change change when you prepare, season and cook a thing and put it on something else.

Not Italian, but I am that person. Tomatoes just raw on burgers for example just muddy the taste for me and the consistency just yuck me out.

    6. Tomato sauce is usually made from canned tomatoes. The varieties that are used for those are different from the fresh ones in the supermarket. They are selected for their taste and don’t have to survive a long logistics chain. They can also be riper when harvested.

This was me until I started growing my own tomatoes. Store bought tomatoes taste like spoiled water at worst, and nothing at best. Homegrown tomatoes made me realize why people like tomatoes.

Welcome to how cooking works. Like garlic in food is great but next time you’re cutting it up, just take a bite of a clove of garlic and let me know how that tastes

    9. Me all day!

      Same with onions!

      I hate it!

But I appreciate the flavor it gives food and Onion Rings are great.

I knew this dude who was a “picky eater” but conveniently loved fried chicken and pizza so that’s pretty much the only thing he would ever eat

    11. Hey its me, Im that person

Raw tomato is too watery, it just doesnt work well for me

Cooked however or in a sauce it gives it a good taste

    12. I don’t think there’s anything strange from not liking the texture of a raw tomato but enjoying it cooked into a sauce.

    13. The secret is.. cooked and seasoned tomatoes taste better.

And, pro-tip, most foods taste better when cooked and seasoned.

Just dont tell that to the plains states in America.

I’m that one guy. Not sure why, I definitely didn’t choose it, but apparently God thought it’d be funny as hell

    15. Maybe because american tomatoes are terrible and people can stand them when they’re cooked but when they’re raw they taste like ass? This is a lot less of an issue with people when they get tomatoes that are actually fresh.

      Yeah it’s me.
A tomato by itself? Disgusting get it away from me
A tomato + bread? That’s the most delicious thing I’ve ever had

    17. Do you know what cooking is? Thats like calling it crazy to like steaks and burgers but not like to bite into live cows

    18. Well of course I know him! He’s me.

Although I don’t actually hate tomatoes; I just don’t really like them enough to want them on most things.
