I had an old manager who asked me what I was doing that weekend. I told her I was going to a wedding and she said she was as well. She was probably 15-20 years older than me. I told her how most of my friends were married at that point (I was maybe 25). She said, “It’s fine. Those same people will be getting married again in their 40s.”
I’ve talked to 2 friends recently whose marriages are on the rocks, so maybe she was right.

Nothing has made me older than realising I’m no longer the age where all of my friends are getting married, but now I’m the age where a lot of those friends are getting divorced 👵🏽

Like 90% of people in my class either have kids or got a degree. Then there’s the 10% in the middle who did both, and good on them for managing that balance.

For my class, that was only a few months after the marriage era.

I shouldn’t find this as funny as I do. Almost everyone bar maybe two couples that i know, who got married before they were 25, are all divorced.
