When Reddit argues who won WW2 vs what actually happened πΊπ³
Iβve seen so many debates online about which country βwonβ WW2, I found this meme to show that it was really the united effort of so many nations and people that defeated Nazism.
it took the allies AND incompetency by axis in numerous areas to end the war

It’s more about the friends we made along the way.

People who fight tooth and nail to say their country won WW2 are the biggest loser around who have nothing to go for them to be proud of outside of past event they weren’t even born for, same goes for any people who act like their country is hot shit because they did some cool shit 500 years ago.

Yeah… and then got pressed by the Soviets for it because if you do one uprising against a totalitarian regime, you’re probably not going to like living under Soviet rule very much.

I find it weird how war can unite us more than peace times. How are we ever goinf to achieve anything longterm when all we have in common is war?
Although I understand sometimes war is nessasary these old posters still give me hope for the momentum achievements when great powers come together.

The Stalin-Hitler pact was secret until the Nuremberg trials, so these wartime posters including the Soviet flag didn’t know about it. They only won because they switched sides, yet post-war Russia made it their whole personality how they were on the right side. Their propaganda even changed the start date of the war to 1941, so they wouldn’t have to teach their school children about the first part.

It was mostly the US that won WW2 tho, the rest won against Germany/Japan but not both.

Depends what you mean by winning. Militarily, it is quite simple.
Politically? That is a very complicated and controversial topic in many states, mostly those “liberated” by the USSR.
I guess situation in the Pacific region is quite similar.

The victors were called allies or The United Nations for a good reason. It was a team effort

I as a german Citizen say that we won the war. We got free of a right winged dictator and learned to work with other countrys. Although I see that this is fading all around the world and it honestly scares me.
