Right. Everything is fine. Nothing to see here!

    1. Right. Nothing at all has changed. Because the essential people are working without pay to keep the country running.

I know Margie Trailer Queene isn’t a smart woman, but it has to be acknowledged that she is one of the world’s paramount experts on “unnecessary drama”. I’d be more inclined to take her word for it, if the Vanilla Gorilla wasn’t so damn dishonest.

    3. Open or closed, Greene never really did any work, and she’s still getting her congressional pay and government provided healthcare.

But just because nothing changes for her doesn’t mean nothing changes for anyone. Republicans sure seem to have a real hard time when it comes to thinking about the needs and well-being of others.

I’m confused… they blamed Democrats for the shutdown and it’s repercussions, but now there is no issues at all? So, Democrats shut the government bad… but also no bad from government shutdown… I can feel my brain cells firing as they try and comprehend how these opposing views can be held simultaneously without awareness

Of course it’s the same for her. Another day not doing shit, getting a paycheck, and protecting the rich and powerful.

Yet. It’s only been a few days. Even the Titanic was okay for a *little* bit after they hit the iceberg. Don’t worry about Empty G though, Congress still gets paid during the shutdown.

Classic MAGA logic. If it doesn’t impact me directly and obviously, it can’t possibly be a problem worth addressing.

    8. How many of you live paycheck to paycheck, or could you go on 1 month without pay?

We are now 1 week without pay for any government employees or in the armed forces.

So, imagine how fucked throws people are. They are families, with kids, needing to buy food, pay for utilities, rent or mortgage. Miss an insurance payment? Shit gets voided and good luck getting new insurance. It’s usually more than you had a few days ago because it lapsed due to payment.

      Fucking MAGA…

Actually people at my work are no longer working meaning that the rest of us get to do more work to make up for it

    10. Sure. Nothing has changed. Except for all the people I know who are furloughed. And all the people *they* know who work at non-profits that are about to lay them off. And the people *they* know who are going to suffer because of the services those nonprofits provide aren’t going to get done.

And given that I work in an area with a lot of government offices, I am definitely looking forward to business slowing to a crawl and some of my coworkers getting let go.

    11. My company through government contracts. Good news, I’m sleeping more. Bad news, my landlord still expects rent… so if Margie can just take care of those consequences then I fully agree!

I take it the majority people are loudly blaming republicans for the shutdown then?

    13. As a professional in the aviation industry, I can assure you very much has changed. Just because you’re in your sheltered echo chamber doesn’t mean everyone else shares your reality.

Also, kindly go sit on a cactus hard enough to require medical intervention.

    14. To be fair, lots of people aren’t getting paychecks. If you’re living from paycheck to paycheck, that sucks.

    15. Well, a local airport here in CA (Burbank) has no air traffic controllers on duty tonight so that’s something.

    16. Yeah except in 24 more days, SNAP funding runs dry which will affect 41 million Americans eating. And if the ACA tax credits aren’t extended 17 million will lose their health coverage and the rest will see a spike in premiums next year.

    17. Unless you want to visit a national park, work on or receive grant money, get paid (if you’re a government worker who’s not wealthy), use government websites like ncbi, use websites without a giant bs blurb blaming the Democrats (who controls the house, senate, presidency and majority of the supreme court again?), etc.

Starting and stopping government services also takes time and energy. So yes, things have changed and I and many others have been impacted by those changes. Go hold a town hall and ask your constituents, Marge.

    18. I mean my mom didn’t get her social security check. I had to cover her rent and food. That kinda changed.

    19. I knew agreeing with her previous statements lately was too good to be true. She hasn’t changed.

    20. Stock market is still open so she’s still making bank off insider knowledge.

Close that and you’ll see her poor rage!

    21. I mean… people aren’t getting paid. The working class mind you, Marge here probably gets a check regardless.

    22. Republicans in a nut shell:

“If it doesn’t impact me personally there’s no reason to care!”

    23. Not true. I am a veteran, just got married and this shit down is very much affecting my ability to get my wife enrolled on my benefits

    24. I went to my local social security office today to get a replacement 1099 for my dead father. I waited in line, finally get to talk to a rep, and get told due to the shutdown they aren’t able to give me the printout. The rep was super apologetic and was clearly expecting me to yell at her. I let out a sigh and said I get it, she is just doing her job, it is congress that is failing to do theirs.
