I find this so ironic because the real power players for most of the triumvirate were Pompey and Crassus. Like Caesar only really becomes relevant once he joins the triumvirate and conquers Gaul

Seeing Pompey and Caesar winning around, ambitious as he was, he thought he “had” to win too.
Thinking he could easily win against Parthia and be on the same page as Pompey and Caesar.
Arrives in Armenia, they are offering help but doesnt take it nor listens to their advices.
Son dies, he dies and the general who has beaten them so fast and easily gets executed because he became popular.
He was checking Pompey and Caesar and with him dead, their rivalry peaked.
