The garage is just for hanging out and drinking beers. If you look at it that way, it’s a pretty sweet setup.

This looks so much like a local area that is right against the ocean. If it is, or a location like it, this place is ramping up to be an AirB&B place.
The ex-garages are now probably guest rooms, and either garage doors still function or have have been left there (blocked off, non functioning) for esthetics/regulations.
Additionally, the need to park multiple cars is helped by a large flat area out front versus the former yard slope.
