Not to be that guy but it seems like he is not actually going to walk around the entire planet…

You know, 30 years ago this guy would have been an international celebrity and rode the fame for the rest of his life. Now with so much media all at once most people will have no idea he ever did this.

I’m really surprised the comments are mostly negative. This is awesome. Imagine all the stuff you’d see along the way, and the journey you’d make. The sense of accomplishment is probably immeasurable.

I suspended belief until the Caspian sea. They want me to believe this dude swam across the sea, but used a boat just to rest.

There are so many of these solo feats I see and can’t help but feel nothing impresses us anymore. People driving around the world , sailing solo; kayaking to the arctic sea, biking across Canada. We’ve seen it all and the idea of not having daily responsibilities and a job makes those who do these fairly disconnected from the people they want to impress or raise money from.

This has been posted many times now, and it’s important to realize that he didn’t do this in one go. He relocated a number of times between stretches, and then went back to resume where he had left off.

idk this actually depresses me to think about. like you have nothing else going on in life?? Nothing? To me it’s opposite of inspiring. To *dedicate* 30 years to something that has no meaning or purpose…. Just going nowhere. It’s sad.
