I’m guessing whoever stuck on the extra letters was trying to label from A to E but had a problem because of the placement of the 2 button so there ended up no space for the letter B. It would have looked like:
B – A
M – B
2 – C
3 – D
4 – E
I dunno what they needed the extra letters for though. Did they think B and M before the numbered floors would be confusing?

Without the white letters it’d make sense. I wonder what they signify.
