Thanks for making an entire herd slightly less capable of fending for themselves, and teaching them behaviours that are counterintuitive to survival

Makes me wonder if animals are smarter and communicate more than we think they do. One can assume.

This is why you don’t feed wild animals. They become dependent on you. Then when you can’t feed them, they starve.

The guy is clearly prepared to feed a ton of deer; that was not a random feeding of the first one.

IF this is real, it will lead to increased dependence and nuisance along with neighborhood run-ins with vehicles. Really best to let them be wild.

Man feeds socialized deer on his deer farm and they act the same as they do every other day when he feeds them.

This may not be exactly related, but, there are “neighborhoods” in Texas that are “rare game reserves” that do something similar.
All sorts of exotic deer, etc just roam the land between homes.
If they start getting overpopulated, the landowners let outsiders come “hunt” the exotic game and make a mint doing so. The animals are extremely desensitized to human contact, so it’s not really hunting, but people pay quite a bit to bag a Russian caribou.
It’s just another example of taking money to make money.

Granted, it’s white tail deer that I’m familiar with, but there is no chance that wild deer would act like this on the second feeding day. Even a whole season of feeding doesn’t get them to act like this, they’re tame, must be a type of farm.

Living in the Rockies, thatβs not a good move. That a good way to bring other predators like wolves or lions near your home.

Serious question, how exactly does a deer βtellβ the rest of the herd that they can get free food at some guyβs house?
