My OCD is out of control at the improper use of “then” and “your” but this is an amazing human. Great thing to do.

While it’s a cute gesture at least where I live people would abuse that and the rule would get shut down due to food cost

I wish every restaurant would do this. Used to work at Dunkin Donuts and it’s insane how many donuts were thrown away every day. I asked why we couldn’t donate them to a homeless shelter and was told we weren’t allowed.

Does anyone know what business this is? Or where?
I know for certain it isn’t local to *me*, but that doesn’t prevent me from being able to try to help promote such a business.
Any insight from anyone else is heavily appreciated.

Used to work at a Little Caesars over a decade ago, we would toss a dozen pizzas at closing. I would always try to bring one to the homeless guy across the street, he still sits at the same bus stop to this day

It’s so much better when places are allowed to just put their discard out back, or have an actual place to put old food, besides the dumpster.
There’s legions of bagel shops, donut shops, bakeries and etc that have so much perfectly good refuse that could be eaten. My wife even worked in a shared commercial kitchen and she would come home with like 3 pound bags of lumpia because “they were ugly”. Like, they work so hard on those and theyre absolutely delicious. But they just give them away, “because ugly”. This happens so often, and in larger situations, it just ends up in the trash because it’s so abundant that the staff cant even eat it all, in specialty environments.
I get that many pantry will take it, but that can also turn into a chore that some facilities don’t want to pay staff for, but throwing it away just sucks.

Hopefully 30 assholes don’t show up pretending to be broke to get free pizza because it means they can get something. I hope this kindness reaches people that actually need it this is really cool.

Dang! I thought OP is a real person, he’s probably a bot as well. He basically just copied and pasted my post a few days ago.

The pizza hut I worked at made us stop giving away the entire unclaimed pizzas we were throwing away to the people hanging around our dumpster when we closed. I’m pretty sure I also got told off for setting them off to the side of the dumpster rather than doing my best to make them inaccessible
Like yeah dude, the people hanging around a dumpster at fucking midnight because they’re hungry are potential customers that eat our nasty ass pizza cold to save themselves 20 bucks, and will definitely sue pizza hut if they get sick from eating one
