Sooo… US was 2 party state for most of history and had party system from the start. And it ruined it so much that nowadays it’s only by far strongest country in the world, with by far biggest economy, most powerful army capable of operating globally, also with dominant culture.
But yeah, sure, whatever, the West has fallen, milions must die and America must be made great again or smth…

It’s always one party that ruins everything at any point in US history(not just republicans)

No, I’d say that he just stuck his head in the sand.
He might have thought that but then built a system that railroaded the country into a two-party system.

Every other democratic country seems to manage with them just fine.Â

He and his fellow founders also thought the poors, women, blacks, and indians voting would ruin the US so….
Maybe consider that a system set up by such people might have some inherent problems beyond “parties bad”

The electoral college is directly responsible for the two party system, well, it and first past the post voting.

He was NOT right
People don’t read what he wanted instead of political parties, so people be like “oh he warned us against it and look at how bad they are”
But he wanted the Roman Republic kind of politics, we have to remember that they modeled the new country on a lot of roman ideals
The roman republic didn’t have political parties, it barely had any ideological diversity at all, they were all elites from the richest of the rich in the republic, who all shred the same ideas, but competed fiercely amongst each other on the back of the loyalty of the plebs
THAT is what he wanted and also why he wanted only land owners to be able to vote as also in the roman republican system there was wealth thresholds to be able to vote and to be able to get elected
What he wanted was MUCH WORSE than political parties

Eh, one party did, the concept of parties didn’t.

It was not just an extremely undemocratic system but one that hiérarchized society and crystallized it into clans and loyalty relationships between The sénatorial class and the rest
