This guy brought a box of pennies to the BMV because he wanted to ‘punish’ the clerk due to the credit card system being down.

      Her: “Is this my punishment for coming into work and doing my job?”

      Him: Silence…..

    2. Also to punish himself to waste even more of his time. Joke is on him….she’s getting paid to sit there.

      That’s a bank box of pennies, so I’m not taking a big leap when I assume these rolls are actually $.50. No big thing.

      If he wanted to be an asshole he should have brought in unrolled, dirty coins.

      This is also the guy who gets mad at how slow the government is and how government workers “don’t do anything.”

    5. Some shriveled-up hunched-over ancient asshole wearing a giant homemade wooden cross on a twine rope did this to me for his late $200 cable bill two days after my dad’s funeral. Handed it to me and said “I hope this makes your day worse.” Piece of *ABSOLUTE* shit. I fell apart and told him how DARE he wear that cross, told the entire store what a bastard he was, and went to the back while he was arguing back. Didn’t even care if I got fired over it. Maybe I’m lucky, but at the age of 37, he’s still the worst piece of random scum I’ve ever encountered.

    6. I remember reading a story about how a guy in Texas back in the 90’s tried to pay a $100 fine in pennies. They made him sit there and count everything out.

      You know that seemed like such a smooth move right up until the moment he did it and realized no one found him cool or funny.

      Been there man…

    8. This reminds me of that guy in Adelaide, Australia who wanted to pay a $60 parking fine with 5 cent coins. He took a video of it like he was some kind of hero.

      He did not come off that way.

    9. I love that in Canada we have the Currency Act which limits amounts that you can pay using coins…$0.25 maximum of pennies are used.

      “Limitation

      (2) A tender of payment in coins referred to in subsection (1) is a legal tender for no more than the following amounts for the following denominations of coins:

      (a) forty dollars if the denomination is two dollars or greater but does not exceed ten dollars;

      (b) twenty-five dollars if the denomination is one dollar;

      (c) ten dollars if the denomination is ten cents or greater but less than one dollar;

      (d) five dollars if the denomination is five cents; and

      (e) twenty-five cents if the denomination is one cent.”

      So you have to stand there like an idiot for however long while making the employee do something that takes longer? Doesn’t seem he thought that one through too well.

    11. I had a situation at the motor vehicle dept that took 5 visits and 7 hours to resolve. I had asked God to give me patience, so of course I got a big test of that!

      Even though I had tears in my eyes at one point, I stayed polite and reminded myself “Everyone here is doing their best.” It was almost miraculous, the peace and calm I got, and the sense of camaraderie that developed. By the end, I felt like I was almost friends with the people. One lady cheered when she found out I got the certificates I needed.

    12. If she takes her time counting all those pennies, (getting paid while working) then its really him thats getting punished for wasting his time

    13. The DMV/BMV sucks but it’s the people at the top who keep the system antiqued and obsolete, certainly not the employees.

    14. People really can’t be trusted to understand who is actually responsible for a problem, can they?

      I never understand it when I see people ticked off at anyone working a customer service job, as 99.99% of the time they have as little power in the situation as the customer.

      Being paid by the hour in a customer service job? Sit and count pennies, which I find relaxing, or deal with angry DMV customers? I don’t work on commission, so I get paid all the same? I’m making a fucking day of counting that payment.

      Was I the clerk, I would have started to *very* slowly count out each and every single penny, and more than once, lose my place completely and have to start over from the beginning.
