    1. Context: This refers to a real incident involving the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) in World War II. During the Battle of Montese in Italy (1945), three Brazilian soldiers – Arlindo Lúcio da Silva, Geraldo Baêta da Cruz, and Geraldo Rodrigues de Souza – became surrounded by a full German platoon after running out of ammunition.

The Germans ordered them to surrender, but instead, they fixed bayonets and charged their enemy head-on.

They were killed in the firefight, but when German soldiers later recovered their bodies, they were reportedly so impressed by their bravery that they buried the Brazilians with full military honors placing a cross with the inscription: “Drei brasilianische Helden” – Three Brazilian Heroes.

    2. Stories about bayonet charges are always cool. I think some soldiers did one in Afghanistan in the 2010s
