Country Club malt liquor was very drinkable. Plus I could bring a sixer to a BYOB party and nobody would snag one.

I did a deep dive into Country Club malt liquor. It’s made by Pabst and it was marketed as the first “party brew” in 1951. According to them, it was the first 40oz sold in a glass bottle. It’s 5.9 ABV which Pabst Blue Ribbon clocks in at 4.7.

I remember my older buddy buying me a sixer of Miller tallboys back in 1980. It was $2.50.
