I use to keep a bit of dirt from places I was deployed to. Later the good and fond memories started to get replaced by bad memories so I disposed of them.

    2. I gathered some sand for a professor in Oregon who had samples from all over the world. I told the customs person that I microwaved it for 2 minutes to sterilize it. Only then was I allowed to take it with me. You might run into a similar issue.

    3. I see two vials from Cyprus on them.

It would be interesting to write down the exact lattitude / longitude coordinates of them just be like yeah, this is exactly what the ground looks like there.

    4. Is that like a £1,000 fine per bottle? Hey, you’ve got Hove sand. Our pebbles wouldn’t fit the bottle.

This is a fabulous idea and really interesting. You should come up with some kind of visual display for your house!
