    1. I’m trying to hire for a role. It was posted two weeks ago and I haven’t seen any resumes. I inquired with HR today and they told me they had received a number of applications but none worth passing along. I asked if they met the minimum requirements I set out and they said, sure, but we don’t want to hire people that only meet the minimum requirements, right? And I was like, no, if they meet the minimum requirements I would be happy to talk to them. This is basically an entry level role so I’m not expecting too much. Sigh.

    2. I mean not that the meme is wrong, because it’s not

BUT when you’re blindly firing off 50 resumes a day with no effort past that… you might need to do a bit more on your end

Yea people don’t want to work three jobs and still have to max out their credit card just to put a roof over their heads and put food on the table.

It’s bad out here. Luckily I own my own small business but even looking for 2-3 days part time is near impossible.

There are too many hoops to hop through for a job. Why isn’t it enough to have one job interview anymore?

It’s more accurate to to have a robot with its foot on the door while turned to HR saying “No one meets your requirements”

    7. HR and recruiting is trying to keep their own job security by setting autorejection parameters that will keep reqs open for longer.

    8. I once went for an interview where people passed the first exam and they immediately cancelled it, mind you the exam was written in their office not online, they gave a very absurd reason and fixed an online exam and on the day of the exam we had 30mins to answer over 100 questions and they were math questions, it was a bank job, timer started from immediately I logged in, haven’t even put my name or email but the timer was gone and when result came out almost everyone failed. Their main motive was to only employ relatives and friends so those guys had the answers to the impossible second exam

    9. What if companies made 20/25 hours a week the full time and just hire two people to cover those hours, they can extend time that they’re open and not have burn outs. I know this would decrease profit and therefore a no go but I thought it was a nice thought

I hurt my leg recently and I’ve been denied so many jobs that require 90% sitting because “you should reapply when your leg feels better.”

Like fuck at this point I want to interview in a wheelchair

    11. They always want someone with “10 years of experience” to fill in entry level jobs like bro, nobody with that much experience wants to put it towards an entry level job

    12. I am in this meme and I don’t like it.

I just got my Master’s degree and have been a working student for three years. My job promised me for months to pick me up full time on my graduation. They didn’t and told me my contract is terminated by two weeks.

So far I’ve only received direct rejections, not any follow email or interview. Just directly how terribly sorry they are and how difficult the decision was. Just bullshit corpo talk.

    13. They care more for a perfect application.

They want an expert in writing job applications rather than somebody who can actually do the advertised job.

    14. If you give good conditions and salary, you’ll never have a single staff related problem.

Or at least that was true for me.
